Shows like Spooks, Ashes to Ashes, The Mighty Boosh, Life on Mars, Little Britain and Torchwood are all available to purchase immediately, priced at £1.89 per episode.
Customers will be able to download episodes of their favourite BBC TV shows eight days after they have aired on TV.
The move is likely to please many iPod/iPhone owners in the UK who have long complained about the lack of video content available outside of the US iTunes Store.
