10.5.2 Inches Closer & Other Updates
In the last few days, Apple has seeded two more builds of Mac OS X 10.5.2 to developers.
Following from build 9C30, which took the number of fixes to around 135, Apple released the latest build, 9C31.
Much of the current focus seems to be surrounding issues with Time Machine, the automated back-up utility introduced with Mac OS X Leopard. In addition, it is expected that 10.5.2 will bring support for the soon-to-be-released Time Capsule backup device introduced at Macworld.
As 9C31 address only a single issue, it is expected that 10.5.2 will be released very soon.
More details are available from AppleInsider here and here.
Apple has also recently released updates for iWeb, iPhoto, Quicktime and ProKit, the latter of which is said to improve reliability of Apple’s professional applications. Meanwhile, the Quicktime 7.4.1 update is a recommended security update for Mac OS X 10.3.9 Panther, 10.4.11 Tiger, 10.5.1 Leopard as well as for Windows XP SP2 and Windows Vista users.
These updates are available from Software Update now.
