Glasgow-Based Apple Reseller Closes
Scotsys has announced that it is to close its Glasgow retail store due to a decrease in custom since the opening of Scotland’s first Apple Store on Glasgow’s Buchanan Street.
The store, based on Great Western Road has been open for ten years. The company says that around 20% of its turnover is accounted for by retail sales, with the Glasgow store making up less than half of that. Scotsys also makes much of its business from the IT services it provides.
The Scotsys store in Edinburgh’s South Clerk Street and its retail head office in Bellshill are not affected by this closure, and will remain open.
The company plans to minimise staff redundancies by relocating them to other posts within Scotsys.
