Penryn iMac & Mac Mini Within 4 Weeks?
According to a report by MacScoop, both the iMac and Mac Mini lines will be updated with Intel’s new processors within the next 4 weeks.
They speculate that the Mac Mini will also see its graphics chipset upgraded from the Intel GMA950 to the newer Intel GMA3100, which is the same chip that is currently deployed in the MacBook and MacBook Air.
Furthermore, they also claim that it is possible Apple are working hard to further shrink the thickness of the current iMacs, although it is not certain that this will be seen in the next refresh. In addition to this, it is also possible that Apple will increase the standard hard drive and memory configurations of the iMac and Mac Mini range. There are no details about more powerful graphics cards being deployed in the iMac in the next refresh, although this is another possibility.
It has been just over one week since Apple updated the the MacBook and MacBook Pro with the latest processors from Intel, which has been met with incremental speed improvements and the notebooks running cooler.
