Proporta Alu-Leather Sheepskin Case for iPod touch & iPod nano.

So, you’ve got yourself a shiny new iPod, and you are trying to find a way to keep it looking brand new? It’s near impossible to keep the aluminium backing on iPods scratch and smear free without some form of protection. However, many of them add excess bulk to the gorgeous slim profile of the iPod that, in the end, forces many users to decide against better judgement and end up not using a case at all. If you want to protect your iPod, I can’t recommend against this enough.

Well, the latest offerings from Proporta counter this problem quite effectively. With their new range of alu-leather lined sheepskin cases, you can keep your iPod safe, clean and protected, all without sacrificing too much in bulk. The design of this case is very sophisticated, yet the range of colours available (pink, red, blue, green and orange) make it an attractive option to a wide range of buyers, including children.

Rather than many cases which make it difficult to remove your iPod from them by either wrapping them in silicon or forcing them into a leather sleeve, the alu-leather sheepskin case has just 2 sturdy clips holding your iPod in place. This results in an elegant solution whereby it is very easy to slip your iPod in and out of the case often. That being said, this becomes less of an issue with this case as it wraps around the back and over the top of your iPod, leaving both the dock connector and headphone ports somewhat exposed for easy access.

The case uses a magnetic latch for keeping it closed which, together with the clean contrast overstitching, results in a very nicely designed product. In addition to this, the front flap of the case offers great protection using Proporta’s ‘Screen Saver System’, which is basically a sheet of rigid, lightweight aircraft grade aluminium. This does a great job of protecting the face of your new iPod from scratches and impact shocks.

A couple of minor negatives points with this case are: some people will still find that it adds too much bulk to the very streamlined range of iPods it is designed for, and due to the design, you have to remove your iPod to use it with an iPod Dock (although you can connect a USB cable to the dock connector port whilst still in the case). However, these are minor complaints and are mentioned only for the sake of completeness.

Overall, this is a great new range of cases from Proporta which are very well designed, and will provide excellent protection to your iPod touch. As such, we feel confident in giving our highest recommendation:
